Drew Byers

The 1st Source Bank Performance Center proudly welcomes Drew Byers as a Pitching instructor. Drew is a former collegiate pitcher who competed at Notre Dame, Samford University, and Georgia Tech. After competing as a two-way player for his first two years, Drew decided to focus his efforts on pitching when he went to Georgia Tech. Throughout his collegiate career, Drew experienced multiple significant arm injuries and underwent multiple elbow surgeries. Although this limited his playing time for most of his collegiate career, he was able to mentally and physically overcome the adversity he faced. He competed well in summer leagues, pitching around 60 innings in the Florida Collegiate Baseball League (FSCL) in 2022 and 2023, finishing in the top 5 for ERA among eligible starters in 2023 and tying for third in most wins in 2022. Drew also competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League, throwing against multiple future first-rounders and earning a win in one of his games.

Drew later worked as an Undergraduate Student Manager at Georgia Tech after playing and collaborating with Tread Athletics to enhance his knowledge about optimizing mechanics, command, and velocity. Drew also has expertise in understanding Trackman and Rapsodo. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s in Business Analytics from Notre Dame, as he is extremely passionate about integrating analytics into baseball to help players reach their full potential.
